Alisha Hunnewell is an undergraduate student at the University of Florida, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Astrophysics. She plans to transition into graduate research in Quantum Physics, aiming to apply quantum technologies to the study of Martian dynamics, gravitational fields, and planetary composition during her missions as a potential/future astronaut on Mars. She has recently joined the ALFA Mars’s team, where she is working to enhance the efficiency of its machinery and reduce operational time frames. Alisha has contributed by integrating electromagnetism concepts into experimental testing, keeping the laboratory environment a safe space to operate in, and has been learning the coding necessary to work with the project’s C.A.D system. Alisha has thoroughly enjoyed getting to work and get to know other scientists at the laboratory, and she shares a passion for space as well as Mixed Martial Arts. Alisha’s consistent enthusiasm and technical contributions have positively propelled the team’s progress forward as they finish up the smaller details necessary before the final launch to Mars.
